Getting Organized and a Little More on the Bebe Jade

What a crazy whirlwind week!  I have been up and down all over town since I have been changing up the rooms in my place so the whole thing is such a mess!  This is why I have been so MIA online; there's nothing I hate more than coming home at the end of a day to a messy bedroom.  I'm nearly done figuring out my shoes, makeup, clothes, etc, and I will be taking pics of my new shoe setup soon since that is probably what relates the most to this blog but I will probably do my makeup too.

Anyway, onto the shoes, I finally got a chance to go out and I decided to put my Bebe Jade's to the test.  I walked around for about 2-3 hours and I have to say, it's like walking in sneakers.  Not that I've ever walked in sneakers, I mean, uhhh... ;) (And yes, for those curious, I do own sneakers! Unbelievable, I know)   Well, they are very comfortable and stable, when I first slid them on they did pinch my pinky toe again and I thought for sure I was gonna get a blister.  But I just wiggled my toe a little and it fell right where it needed to be, and 3 hours later I am blister free!

Make sure you put your toes into place before you start walking or you will be wincing!  Also, don't tighten the ankle strap too tight.  I did that and I could not go up stairs comfortably, it's the same feeling you get on your wrist from wearing a watch too tight.  The majority of the security will come from the wedge itself so don't rely too much on the ankle strap.

Last but certainly not least, be careful when walking on grass, and I mean lumpy grass! I was all fine and dandy until I inadvertently stepped on a clump and I started tilting forward!  Remember that super high wedges have itty-bitty bottom soles so watch your step.  Other than that, you will be golden!

Oh! One big negative on this shoe.  The wedge area with the golden basket weave, well it seems like the golden part is just sprayed on or something because it's actually very flaky.  I saw a little piece of the gold coming up, so I pulled it off thinking its gold underneath too, but its not!  It's just the regular plain basket weave.  I am worried that it I scratch up against surfaces the gold will start peeling off.  To me, this is a real downfall for this wedge.  I guess I'll just have to be extra careful.

Bebe Jade In White

Hello all! I finally come to you with a brand new shoe and a new setup!  This lovely wedge is from the latest summer collection, Va Va Voom, from bebe.  I am beyond impressed with this shoe, its so incredibly striking in person.

Defined As: Platform  Peep Toe Patent Wedge w/ Ankle Strap and Golden Basket Weave
Nail Polish: Zoya - Miley

These are so much more beautiful in person, especially the wedge portion of the shoe, it's a shiny golden foil but its not totally flashy and overly 70s.  What first drew my attention to these was the massive platform and the skinny width of the heel, but that foil is the high point on this shoe and makes it a definite keeper.

The toe area is pretty comfy but sometimes my pinky toe can feel a little crushed, however, I just got these today so I have no idea what they are like for long distances.  They feel pretty steady because of the large platform and the ankle strap gives you a little more security but I will update you guys once I wear them out.

Some of the pics didn't pick up the gold tone as well as others, but here is a good example of what it looks like in person:

Oh, and I mentioned in the previous post that I also ordered the black ones but they actually didn't work out for me.  The sizing is perfect but I just wasn't happy with the color of the wedge because it's not as gold as the white ones, its more like a lighter beige metallic.  I included a picture to show you what I mean, oh and please excuse all the crazy particles over the shot:

Again, it's all just personal preference but they didn't really wow me.  I know why they probably didn't do the gold on these, it might have looked tacky.   But that's ok, I might look into other colors and whatnot.

These are now sold out in the blue and gold completely, they are running low on black, and I believe they have most sizes for the white.  If you are interested you can find them on the bebe website here:

Thanks for stopping by everyone, bye!

Out Of The Vault: Bakers Sofie in Green

I know, I know, yet another "Out Of the Vault" shoe.  I'm probably driving some people nuts with these since I am not reviewing any new shoes that are currently being sold but I'm sorry, it's because I haven't bought any lately.  Bebe Jade is not set to come until later this week so I will have to work with what I have for now...

Defined As:  Round Toe Stacked Wood Platform Pump

I'm not sure what the heel height is on these but they are most definitely comfortable.  They are basically a variation of the Bakers Victoria but even more comfortable because the heel is a tad bit chunkier.  Toe room is excellent, no pinching or annoying rubbing!  This style of heel is great for novices because of the large platform and secure fit.

I'm also really happy that I decided to get them in this color.  It's one of the few green shoes that I own and I love that its a mossy olive tone which is only heightened in contrast to the medium brown platform.  It's earthy and easy to wear in terms of comfort and in incorporating it into outfits.  This is a good way to experiment with color in your footwear, start off with a very toned down version of the color you want to use and work your way into brighter versions.

Always check out your local Bakers clearance section since sometimes they will carry styles that are gone from the website.  That's actually where I found these for $29.99!!! Go me :)

Bebe Jade Is On Its Way!

I knew these weren't going to last long!

Bebe Jade

I believe that these were released only yesterday and they are already nearly sold out in the blue and the gold.  Part of the reason they went so fast is probably because they had a 20% off promo code but it was one day only.

I ended up getting the black and white ones, however, I just now noticed that the platforms seem to be different tones so I will wait to see these in person to judge them.

On the models:

FIERCE!

I am in the middle of reworking my picture environment so bear with me! I am cooking up something a bit different so hopefully I can incorporate better lighting and new environments.

If you are interested in this shoe I suggest you get you fingers moving, it can be found here:

Although, I am sure that they will likely restock this wedge, just like the Bebe Natasha when it sold out in like .5 seconds... which I still want! But I am restraining myself for now, have fun with this one!

I Threw Them Out!

I finally made a decision, and for the last couple of days, I have been throwing out all of my shoe boxes!  I'm  actually really relieved that I made this decision and I feel like it was the right thing to do, for me personally.  It was so ridiculous how much bulk I was able to get out, and god, I can't even imagine how difficult it would be to move with all these boxes if that day ever came.

Right now I'm in the middle of finding the right shelving for them so they are just kind of sitting around waiting for a home.  I guess I should have put the shelving up first, huh? Well, no matter.  I know I'll have to be much more responsible about them and make sure I dust them constantly but it's totally worth the work seeing them all lined up and ready to go.  I ended up cataloging all the shoes into one large excel document with all the names, sizes, etc so that I can still post and being the nut that I am, I know all my shoes by their names.

Let's hope this system works out because if it doesn't... well, it just has to work! :)

Out Of The Vault: Bakers Fanta in Red

Hello everybody! I'm back with a shoe from my library which I purchased over a month ago, but I bought these when they were already on clearance so I cannot find them on the website anymore.  With any luck, you'll probably find them on the clearance rack of your local Bakers store.  This is why I'm listing it as a "vault" item since it is not readily available.  These were also being sold in black, brown, and blue.

Defined As: Platform Pointy Toe Pump w/Exposed Heel and Studding Detail

I usually tend to steer away from pointy toed shoes since they are really not my style, however, the pointy toe on these particular heels is not ridiculously long.  I also wanted to branch out from my typical rounded, almond, and peep toe styles.  I don't own anything similar to this, especially the detail on the heel with the exposed metal, it's a completely unique addition to my collection.

As for comfort, well, they're not comfortable.  :) Yeah, the platform, and I use the term loosely, is so tiny, it must be less than 1/2 inch, yet the heel is still a standard 5 incher.  This of course, causes more strain on the ankle, something I noticed when I was trying them on in the store, however, I really wanted it so I decided to overlook that fact.  Definitely wear them to events that require minimal standing and walking.  I do wonder if the angle feels more extreme for smaller sized feet....????

Studding detail:

Good luck finding these if you're interested,
