Out Of The Vault: Bakers Victoria in Gray

So this is my second post on the Bakers Victoria which I believe is no longer sold on the website or in stores, correct me if I'm wrong.  The Melina has been it's replacement; it's very similar in style with the main difference being that the Victoria heel is circular all the way around whereas the Melina inner-heel is cornered.

Defined As: Suede Platform Pump

Heel Height: 5.25 inches w/ 1.25 inch platform

You can find my original review on the black pair HERE.

The review for this pair is basically exactly the same.  I have actually been pretty bad about wearing these since I typically reach for the black pair over and over.  I will have to keep that in mind...

I would have loved to get these in patent gray but I'm not sure if they even sold them in that material/color combo.  Also, note to self: must sit down and peel all those silly stickers off the back of my heels.  I will always peel the white ones but the clear/transparent ones always slip by me.  They are such a pain to remove because they leave that sticky film that attracts dirt and you end up with a square of dirt on the back.  Is there any way around this??

 That's all at the moment.

BYE!

Victorias/Caryssas (SM's version) are by far the most common in my shoe closet, so I can speak with certainty (and sadness!) that they did not make a grey patent.

Let me know if you figure out a way to get rid of the film after those stickers (and I always forget the clear ones too).

those are gorgeous!

Oil will get rid of that sticky residue. I use the oil that comes with a wax strip kit to get rid of any excess wax.

I'm just like you, I'm pretty sure that the Victoria/Caryssa is the most repeated shoe in my collection! I could've sworn that they had made a gray patent but I must have seen it on urbanog or something. Gillybeancandyjar suggests using oil for the stickers, I will definitely be trying it out. It's so silly, my friends are always pointing them out on me and I have to try to remove them casually in public LOL!

BTW, thanks so much for being an active commenter! I really appreciate getting feedback!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I was really at a loss as to what I could possibly do. So does the brand matter? Which one do you use? Or can I use like cooking oil? LOL, please let me know!

They make something called Goo-Gone, which is specifically for that type of thing.

Try using some rubbing alcohol on the leftover sticky residue. Cheap and works for me!

Ter - Thanks so much for the suggestion. Usually I get lazy and walk on the stickers that are on the soles until they come off, lol. I'm about to embark on a mission to remove all the stickers and get rid of all that gunk. Wish me luck!
