These 2 necklaces are my latest jewelry purchase from New York & Company. I usually look for my accessories at Forever 21 since they have such a massive inventory of the stuff, however, I have been looking at NY & C's stuff for a couple of months now as they have some really unique and gorgeous pieces.
You can really save some cash if you buy their jewelry during Buy One, Get One 50% off events and ,even better, during the elusive Buy One, Get One 75% off.
The 1st piece:
The chunky beads on this particular necklace really play with the light and the crystal and lavender tones really play well against one another.
I have been playing around with lighting, camera flash, and so on since it's always a little more tricky to photograph jewelry since it can reflect light back at the lens the way mirrors do. I tried switching towel colors to really enhance the sparkle of the bulbs but I am still trying to figure out the best way to do this without ending up with blurry shots, however, that probably means I need a better camera!
The 2nd piece:
I am a huge fan of multiple strands on a single necklace, especially those that have some sort accent piece like this flower. It gives off that asymmetrical look but in a really interesting way that doesn't look too off. My flower shot is super blurry and I wish it would have come out clearer so you could see the cool swirling effect of the silver tone.
I've been buying pieces from this store for some time already and so far nothing has broken so I'm really satisfied with the quality, especially for the price.
Their website is showing that the jewelry is on sale for BOGO 75% off! I'm not sure if the stores are holding the same promo but I will let you know if I head in anytime soon.
Bye!

...And You Can Take These Trends To The Bank! Featuring: Faux Fur
Faux fur is another one of this season's biggest trends and it's the one that I've probably encountered the most in stores. Most of the items that I selected for this post have faux fur as trim of the item (except for the cowl) as I like how it looks in moderation, however, you can go for a more luxe look with the capelets and coats that are entirely covered such as this:

| Bebe Capelet |
1. Guess Obelize Boot - $225.00
2. Target Mossimo Gloves - $17.99
3. GAP Sweater Coat - $58.00
4. New York and Company Cowls - $7.99
5. Bakers Cozy Handbag - $52.00
And
Bebe Capelet - $109.99
Have fun!

Bebe Missy
So, as I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I am such a sucker for faux fur on shoes. So my number one item on my wish list this year was the Bebe Missy in black and I am so happy and grateful to have received this present from my best friend!
Defined As: Leather Boot W/Faux Fur Cuff, Buckle, and Indented Heel
This boot FLEW off the shelves. I had seen in it in a couple of ads and in stores but kept hesitating to grab for it so I decided to put it on my wish list. When I finally saw the listing online, it was sold out in all sizes! I figured it was the same scenario in-stores and didn't even bother to check.
Well, I am very fortunate to have such an amazing best friend in my life, because I never expected to be able to get my hands on it. I was shocked when I opened this early Christmas present, and I can only hope that my gifts in return were somewhat close to this great, you know who you are, :)
These are not super sky-high as they are 5 inches which is pretty standard for the average user of high heels (I think...) which means you can get a lot of walking time out of these. I actually walked continuously for about 4 hours before my little toe started to get sore from rubbing on the leather even though I was wearing socks. I think the soreness will lessen the more I wear them as the leather will soften. They get warm quickly and are well insulated, trust me, if its cold out, your feet won't feel it.
Here's one of my signature blurry close-ups:
Check-out the awesome structure of the heel:

I know they also had these in tan but so far on the website they are down to one size and only in black!

Doing It For The FAAME
Here is one of the latest additions to my shoe library, it is the Steve Madden Faame. This shoe is almost exactly identical to the Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly booties, except that those are real leather while the Madden's are satin. It's definitely an odd choice of material and I just now realized that it is the first satin shoe that I own.
Defined As: Triple Bow Satin Platform Bootie
Nail Polish: China Glaze - Blue Sparrow with clear topcoat
I know that some people really dislike designer dupes/knockoffs, but I personally don't mind. There's also people who hate designer duds because they consider the prices outrageous for what the item is "actually worth." I don't mind either way, if you love it and can afford it, then buy it. But as of the moment, I don't have thousands in disposable income, so I will stick to the Madden's :)
I'm really happy with these shoes, however, I will have to look up care instructions on this material, specifically since footwear gets so much more wear-and-tear than clothing. They are super comfortable and easy to walk-in.
The only tiny little thing that bothers me, personally, is that when I zip them up, they don't hug my ankle as tight as I would like them to. Again, this is a personal preference thing, but it's a huge pet peeve of mine when shoes don't wrap around my foot, like when they have that huge gap around your ankle, it just looks like a bad fit to me. But luckily for me, its not that huge, and I love these heels to much that I can disregard that little gap.
They also have these in Champagne in case you're interested!

Bakers has been having such great sales lately that I kind of wish I would have held off from buying stuff earlier this year (Aug-Oct) to take advantage of these promos. Technically, I am finished with my Christmas shopping for myself and my family, and I even already excused myself during Cyber Monday to buy a few presents for myself. So now that shopping is "over," I really should stop looking at their website and walking into their stores, because then I see things like this:
....Oh, and bunch of stuff from the clearance section is sparking my interest too. The good thing is that I hate paying full price for items only to see them later at a huge discount, and this is what always encourages me to wait. I was dying for these when they popped up on the website a couple of months ago:
I was ready to pounce but I knew they'd be reduced fairly quickly. Well, I actually picked these up on the Cyber Monday sale and with the reduced price, discount, and B card, I payed $29 bucks for them. They were originally $79.95!
So I will be patient about these new shoes as well, however I can't say for sure that I'll be keeping my word in regards to Elvie..... haha!
Have a good one!

Hooray for Christmas!
I know I should have mentioned this a little while back, but I spaced! I am so into the holidays, and in my case Christmas, that I had to revamp The Bankrupt Vanity into something super festive! And I am having way too much fun with those skins for browsers, like the Mozilla ones below , look at it!
Anyway, enough of that! My gojane order arrived and I will be photographing those shoes soon. I haven't posted shoes in a while now so I think I'm due for an update of that nature. My workload is finally dying down, and I'm....so...happy! Well, hope you guys are having a great holiday season so far, no matter what you celebrate, have fun!

HELLO BAKERS??
So recently I put a Bakers order through on Cyber Monday and a couple of days later, all of my shoes arrived except one pair. And they're still not here......
In fact, they were in stock when I ordered them and they are still in stock in my size now! So what's going on, they never charged me but I'm wondering why they would arbitrarily not ship these shoes. I have been meaning to call but I'm super busy in the daytime and everytime I remember to call, it's already past their 5PM Central time closing.
The shoe I bought was Bailey in Tan, and yeP, they are still fully stocked on them! Ok, I'm going to have to set an alarm for myself to remember to call.

Go Jane Order!
It's been a while since I've put a gojane.com order through, I've been swamped with work and hadn't even had a chance to finish any kind of holiday gift shopping. I've finally got a bit of free time on my hands and have perused through their shoe section, I didn't get much but will post these when they arrive. Here is one of the pairs I ordered, I know that platform is a total knockoff on a designer whose name is escaping me at the moment but, oh well....
Pics when they arrive!

But what other people think doesn't really matter, if you like, then wear it, even when the craze dies down :)
