The major discomfort in the Addison stems from the toe area, specifically, the pinky toe. Even as I took these pictures, I was having a hard time staying on my feet because of the torture I was putting my little toe through :) The toe strap, however, is not to blame because it's actually the buckle that creates the tremendous amount of strain and pressure; it just isn't in the right place and all I feel is the metal suffocating my pinky.
The strap itself doesn't dig into the skin too much but unfortunately it's not adjustable the way the second strap is. This can easily be fixed through a do-it-yourself project where you can puncture your own holes for sizing. I have yet to try this but I will most definitely get on it since I love these shoes so much and refuse to return them (I waited almost 2 months before I finally got them!).
Oh, and usually if a shoe hurts this much, I take it right back to the store, but the weird thing is that the pain is only happening on my right foot, which is why I'm willing to fiddle around and make them work the way they do on my left foot.

I'll give an update if it ends up not working out for me, but this heel is so unique and different compared to other shoes I own that I doubt I'll let it go. It's a great addition to any fall wardrobe and a perfect transition shoe from warm to chilly weather.
Have a good one!
