Bakers: H by Halston - Brooke in Tan Reptile

The only difference I can find is that the straps on this version seem much thinner than the white ones, however, I have worn both colors and they are equally comfortable.

 Again, I went 1/2 size up for these wedges.

Bakers: H by Halston - Brooke in White

So sorry I took forever to post this one, the faux snakeskin one is coming up soon.  Luckily I can give a complete review on these since I've been wearing them out a lot lately and they are quite comfortable, however, not as comfortable as the Madden Wheatley.

By comparison, the heel portion of the Steve Madden Wheatley is slightly thicker than the H by Halston Brooke.  This, of course, means that the Wheatley is wearable for a longer period of time than Brooke.  A thicker/chunkier heel means less pressure on the ball of the foot since there is a larger surface area on the heel taking on some of the weight.  Some might disagree but I have definitely found that it is my experience with all shoes.

That being said, Brooke's heel might be thinner but it's nothing too extreme.  It's definitely a walkable shoe for about 3-4 hours depending on experience and so on.  However, the discomfort does NOT stem from the ball of the foot but, rather, from the open-toe design.

The open toe causes more of your foot, or your toes, to come through the opening, which leads to that annoying rubbing against the skin.  I didn't get any blisters or cuts since the material is nice and soft, even though it's synthetic, but it definitely cuts down on your walking time.  The peep-toe on the Wheatley's and the Bebe Jade make those kind of wedges feel like sneakers, no joke.

Anyway, the open-toe is the only thing that will affect your walking in these after a couple of hours, other than that they are great!  The straps feel nice and thick on the white pair and they are super comfy all around.  The big platform makes them a great choice for beginners and long-time shoe lovers.  Also note, I bought these half a size bigger because when I tried on my typical size 6, my toes were spilling and the footbed felt very narrow.

Current Bankable Craze: Wedge Booties

Hey everybody! I know that summer is still hitting some people pretty hard, however, I do feel the need to post on fall footwear since many companies are releasing their fall lines, whether it be in relation to cosmetics, home decor, and of course apparel/footwear.  Also, I'm aware that the final row of shoes are likely to be considered more as mid-calf boots but I decided to add them anyway since they straddle the line between ankle and mid-calf depending on an individuals height and the way the shoe is worn (i.e "collar" up or down). 

There's a wide variety of gray tones available this season and, of course, black cannot be left behind.  I'm really loving the color red for fall/winter as seen in style #7; this look definitely packs a punch against the dreary colors that cold weather so often brings.  #7 and #1 scream Robin Hood to me for some reason and I am contemplating purchasing both styles.  The enclosed structure, on all but 2 styles, gives the same warmth provided by typical boots and  the wedge heel delivers lift in both height and style.  The wedge structure also provides the comfort that a high heel lacks when covering long distances.

So no excuses ladies, high heels are a must for all seasons :-)

Out Of The Vault: Bakers Victoria in Gray

 So this is my second post on the Bakers Victoria which I believe is no longer sold on the website or in stores, correct me if I'm wrong.  The Melina has been it's replacement; it's very similar in style with the main difference being that the Victoria heel is circular all the way around whereas the Melina inner-heel is cornered.

The review for this pair is basically exactly the same.  I have actually been pretty bad about wearing these since I typically reach for the black pair over and over.  I will have to keep that in mind...

I would have loved to get these in patent gray but I'm not sure if they even sold them in that material/color combo.  Also, note to self: must sit down and peel all those silly stickers off the back of my heels.  I will always peel the white ones but the clear/transparent ones always slip by me.  They are such a pain to remove because they leave that sticky film that attracts dirt and you end up with a square of dirt on the back.  Is there any way around this??

Sneak Peek: H by Halston - Brooke

These are the wedges I mentioned very briefly in my previous post, I actually had to go 1/2 size up and brought these home in a 6.5 because the 6 was really narrow throughout the toe bed .

These are my first snake print shoes ever! I got a great deal on these as they were each $59.99, reduced from $105.00!  So with my B card discount I practically got both pairs for the price of one at MSRP.  The price on these has been dropping almost every week, so they are likely to fall even further, especially with summer coming to an end.  I personally could not wait any longer because my size always goes fast.  They are currently well stocked online:

Current Bankable Craze: Red, Red Wine

Well, maybe it's not fall just yet, but who's to say one can't get started looking into autumn colors early?  In fact, many of the shoes I selected for this post have been out for some time so if you're into dark red, wine, burgundy, and so on, these colors should only be getting even more easily accessible with the turn of the season just ahead.  I currently own ZERO shoes in this color.Unbelievable! Out Of The Vault: Bamboo Driven-05

Now, this one's pretty old. I bought this wedge well over a year ago and it's definitely one of my best bargain buys. Umm, on another note, why the heck does the floor look lime green??? Please ignore, it must have been my lighting...

Nail Polish:  China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise (This color is hard to pinpoint, it looks way more green in the bottle. The first coats looked green but when I finished applying my topcoat, it looked blue as pictured)

Heel Height: 5.5 Inches w/ 1.25 Inch  Platform

Ugh, sorry for the blurry pic, I took 3 and they all came out bad!  Anyway, about 2-3 months ago I had seen a shoe on a Bebe model which was almost identical to this one by Bamboo.  I believe the Bebe one was an espadrille with little plastic gems sewed on, well, by the time I saw it, the shoe was already gone from the website and I didn't even catch its name.

BUT the point is that the picture reminded me of just how much I like this shoe and how neglectful I was being!  I am pretty good about rotating footwear but this one happened to be at the very top of a shelf and stuck in a corner. 

These are definitely high and can feel teeter-tottery at some points.  

If you gals are expert high heel wearers then these are a must.  I would not recommend this style of shoes to novices as they have a sharper incline that your run-of-the-mill wedges.

So I checked Urban Original and as I suspected, they're totally gone.  The only place I managed to find them at was at Shiekh Shoes, however, they have given the wedge a massive price hike.

Do you guys shop at this store? I have seen it at a couple of malls and it's online too, but to be honest I have never bought any shoes from them because they seem to be the same exact shoes you can buy from urbanog, amiclubwear, gojane and so on but way more expensive.  I'm going to post the link for those of you who are still interested:

I can't remember exactly how much I paid for this shoe but it was FOR SURE less that $25.  Food for thought.
